The IT-guy’s “sinner’s prayer”

Dear Lord
I have read many reviews (in the Bible, and from testimonies online) and I have come to the conclusion that my current operating system isn’t doing what I need anymore. It has caused a few hard-drive crashes, serious security issues, and even some BSOD’s (blue screen of death), resulted in data-loss, painful frustration, and frequent spells of utter depression. My productivity, as a result, took a serious knock, and I can’t seem to get in back the groove.
I acknowledge that over the years, I have spent lots of time on many different networks that may not have been good for my wellbeing. In my desire to remain connected to the world outside, I have clicked on some dodgy links that have exposed me to the bad intentions of evil minds. I know I am not alone in this mess, and I admit I may have passed some of these issues on to my contacts. (Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”)
I have come to realise that there are certain features that I simply do not have, or that my versions of some are really outdated. (Galatians 5:22 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is: Love, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, Self-control; against such things there are no law.”) Just a simple security upgrade will not be enough. (Acts 2:21 – “And it shall be that everyone who shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”) The threats from outside keeps developing, finding better ways to intrude, and make my life miserable. What I need is a total upgrade to my current system
I realise that continuing the current route, will inevitably end in disaster. I have tried many, many patches, but with no joy. (Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.”) I simply cannot go on with this old OS.
I think it is time for me to take the plunge and accept this major upgrade. I have read many tutorials and watched how-to videos for the things I want for my life, but the good ones all assume the new operating system. My way of doing things have become outdated. The new OS is so revolutionary, that I will have to start doing things differently, and look at alternative solutions. Some of my old habits and ways of doing things are just not productive anymore! (Romans 12:2 – “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God.”)
I have read the terms and conditions and I know for a fact that I’m ready to click on “UPGRADE NOW!”
I am ready to reboot!
Amen.
